Amanda Wei Gallery is excited to announce our participation at Taipei Dangdai 2019.

For this year's inaugural edition of the art fair - Amanda Wei will present the artworks of Chinese artist Tan Ping.

 

Tan Ping is an artist, educator, and Vice President of The Chinese National Academy of Arts. He graduated from the Chinese Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1984. He studied in Germany in the late 1980s and got a master degree and a Meisterschule degree. He had also received a Doctor of Honor degree from Kingston University in the UK.

 

Tan Ping served as President of the school of design in Chinese Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Vice President of the same University. He is known as the leading figure of Chinese abstract art, the pioneer of contemporary Chinese art design, and the promoter of the development of Chinese experimental art.


In his 40 years of artistic practice, Tan Ping has always been exploring multiple fields such as painting, printmaking, multimedia, and design. He joins the many nodes of contemporary art into one through his ceaseless changes and powerful creations.
