"The Passion of Christ" is a cubist work by Lin Fengmian. Lin Fengmian published a special essay
"Picasso and Modern Art" in 1949, showing his in-depth research on Cubism. During his seclusion in
Shanghai in the 1950s, he began a series of bold breakthroughs. His Cubist-style still life, "The Passion
of Christ" was created during this period. The painting adopts radial composition, and through rough
lines and geometric divisions, it shows the Christ dedicated to faith, just like Lin Fengmian's monologue
dedicated to art.
