What the Light Remembers
This group exhibition brings together painting, sculpture, photography, and rare Persian silk carpets. Centered on the theme of light and memory, the exhibition explores landscapes of the inner self and the emotions carried within them. Clouds, shadows, horses, flowers, water reflections, and the intricate patterns of carpets are not merely visual motifs—they are vessels of memory and feeling.
Participating artists include:
Lai Chi Man (marble sculpture), Alixe Fu (painting), Hua Xiyu (painting), Marcel Heijnen (photography), Qamar Ashaqi (Persian carpet), and Shafeiai (Persian carpet).
The Persian carpets on view, woven by master artisans from a lineage of weavers, are rare cultural treasures. Their refined craftsmanship and lyrical beauty resonate with the contemporary works presented in the show, creating a dialogue between East and West, tradition and modernity.
What the Light Remembers invites visitors to slow down, to wander through the century-old Chatham Maison, and to discover a moment of quiet reflection and healing amidst light and art.
